SYDNEY, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- A 28-year-old man was shot inside a home in Guildford, a suburb in western Sydney, police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) said in a statement on Saturday.
Police said that emergency services were called to the home at about 7:40 p.m. local time on Saturday and found the man suffering a gunshot wound to his back.
Officers were told several men entered the home and allegedly shot the man before they left in a white SUV.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced. ■
