YANGON, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar fuel price caps have risen to 3,710 kyats (about 1.76 U.S. dollars) per liter for 92 RON gasoline and 3,815 kyats for 95 RON, while diesel has increased to 4,240 kyats and premium diesel to 5,140 kyats, the Petroleum Products Regulatory Department said on Friday.
In the previous week from Aug. 21 to 27, the price caps were 3,575 kyats for 92 RON and 3,690 kyats for 95 RON, with diesel and premium diesel at 4,070 kyats and 4,925 kyats, respectively, it said.
Domestic fuel prices are influenced by the Mean of Platts Singapore price index, which is widely used to price refined petroleum products in Southeast Asia, the department said.
The Supervisory Committee on Import, Storage and Distribution of Fuel Oil oversees the fuel market to ensure stable prices and a secure supply. Under its guidance, the Petroleum Products Regulatory Department issues updated fuel price caps weekly. ■
