SYDNEY, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- A man has been arrested after assaulting two police officers in Sydney's inner west, with a subsequent search uncovering a firearm and drugs.
Officers attempted to speak to a man riding a bike on Kensington Road, Summer Hill, in Sydney, about 10:30 a.m. on Friday, police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) said in a statement.
The man ran from the police and during a foot pursuit, an ammunition magazine has allegedly been dropped by him.
The 31-year-old man was arrested a short time later, during which he allegedly resisted police and two officers were injured, NSW police said.
One of the officers suffered a deep laceration to his wrist, while the second officer suffered a minor hand injury, the statement said. ■
