TOKYO, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Japan's weather agency expected higher-than-normal temperatures nationwide over the coming three-month period, according to its latest forecast.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said Tuesday that due to the effects of global warming and the El Nino phenomenon, average temperatures across the country are expected to be higher than usual from September to November.
Weather officials expected mostly average precipitation nationwide over the next three months, while urging caution due to the recent increase in the frequency of heavy rainfall as the period overlaps with the typhoon and autumn rainy season. ■
