SUVA, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- To improve service efficiency and responsiveness, Fiji's Ministry of Immigration plans to streamline the processing of relevant work permit applications from next Tuesday.
Under the new arrangement, five administrative requirements will be removed from the list of standard documents required for applications, including the tripartite agreement, advertising requirement, training plan, local understudy requirement, and application received analysis.
The Ministry said these changes will enable officials to focus on the statutory and regulatory requirements for each work permit application, reported Fiji Broadcasting Corporation on Tuesday.
It emphasized that streamlining the process will not lower or alter Fiji's requirements regarding immigration, security, or compliance.
All relevant applications will continue to be assessed in accordance with the country's immigration laws and applicable policies and procedures.
The Ministry noted that this move aims to provide more efficient immigration services while maintaining necessary safeguards and regulatory standards. ■
