NEW DELHI, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Incessant rains disrupted normal life in Delhi and nearby areas on Monday as around 15 flights were diverted to other cities.
Among the diverted flights were three international flights, said an official at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Flights departing from the Delhi airport were also disrupted due to heavy rains. Besides, people were seen stranded for long hours on roads, stuck in traffic jams due to waterlogging.
More rain was expected over the next 24 hours, said an alert by the Indian Meteorological Department.
Considering the bad weather conditions prevailing in Delhi and nearby areas, work-from-home advisories were issued by government authorities in Gurugram city for Tuesday. ■
