HANOI, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam on Monday tightened its regulations on overseas jobs for contract workers as the National Assembly passed a revised law, local media Tuoi Tre reported.
The revised law prohibits Vietnamese workers from taking overseas jobs that violate national security, social order and safety, or social morality, or endanger the health of workers and the community, as well as jobs not permitted by the receiving country.
It bans organizing overseas employment or recruiting, preparing and sending Vietnamese workers to areas affected by armed conflict or areas that competent authorities have advised people not to visit or to limit travel to.
The law also bans Vietnamese workers under contract from taking massage jobs abroad and organizations from sending workers overseas for such work.
The revised law will take effect on March 1, 2027, the government portal reported. ■
