KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia has advised its nationals traveling in the southern Thai provinces of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani to exercise caution following a series of security incidents, the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
Malaysians traveling in the affected areas are urged to register with Malaysia's embassy, the statement said.
"Malaysians residing in, traveling through, or intending to travel to and from the southern border provinces of Thailand are strongly advised to exercise heightened caution, remain vigilant, and strictly observe all safety advisories, curfews, and security instructions implemented by local authorities," it said.
Thailand's Fourth Army Region on Saturday advised the public to stay vigilant following the occurrence of multiple violent incidents in its southern border provinces. ■
