KATHMANDU, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed after a passenger bus collided with a motorcycle in Nepal's central Chitwan district on Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred at around 12:23 p.m. along the East-West Highway when a bus traveling from Narayanghat in Chitwan district to Bardibas in Mahottari district collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, according to a statement issued by the district police.
The motorcycle rider and a woman traveling with him were seriously injured in the crash and rushed to a hospital, where both died while undergoing treatment. The bus driver has been taken into custody.
Further investigation into the accident is underway, police said. ■
