KABUL, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and three others injured when a rickshaw plunged into a river in eastern Afghanistan's Laghman province on Sunday, the provincial police office reported in a statement.
The mishap occurred in Tangi Abrisham area along the highway connecting Nangarhar province to the capital, Kabul, after the three-wheeled rickshaw veered off the road and jumped into the river due to reckless driving, according to the statement.
The deceased included a father and his son, while the three injured, among them a woman, were transported for medical treatment, it added. ■
