NEW DELHI, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- At least two people died and nine were injured when a powerful blast took place inside a pharmaceutical unit in India's southern state of Telangana, confirmed a local government official on Saturday.
The incident was reported from the state's Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district late on Friday night.
Those injured were admitted to a local hospital. A few among the injured were said to be in a critical condition.
The explosion led to a massive fire inside the pharmaceutical unit. Fire brigades were called in, and the blaze was eventually put out. ■
