MANILA, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Four people, including a three-year-old child, were killed in a fire that swept through a residential area in Pasay City, Metro Manila, the Philippines, on Friday afternoon, local authorities said.
The blaze broke out around 1:35 p.m. on Tengco Street and quickly spread to adjacent homes. The fire was raised to the second alarm and declared under control at 3:45 p.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Initial investigations pointed to an explosion of a liquefied petroleum gas tank as the likely cause, local media reported. Four others were injured and about 30 families were displaced by the fire. ■
