ISLAMABAD, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar said Thursday that six Pakistani sailors injured in an attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels have returned safely to Pakistan.

A Tanzania-flagged commercial vessel came under attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels in the Red Sea on Aug. 11, leaving several crew members dead and injured.

Six injured Pakistani sailors have now reached Pakistan, while the bodies of two sailors who died in the attack have also been brought back, Dar said in a statement.

"We remain committed to extending all possible assistance to the injured sailors and the bereaved families," he said.

He added that the Pakistani government has instructed all relevant authorities to ensure the safe, dignified and swift repatriation of the injured sailors and the deceased.

Dar praised Saudi authorities and other stakeholders for their cooperation in facilitating the repatriation and providing assistance to the affected sailors and their families.
