BANGKOK, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- On Monday, inside Bangkok's IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, bright lights cast down on a rich lineup of tech exhibits. Voices of demonstrators, giggles from student visitors, and the low hum of machinery intermingled in the air.

The venue plays host to the Thailand National Science and Technology Fair 2026, where China's scientific innovations and technological achievements take center stage, with Chinese booths drawing steady crowds.

Featuring innovative technologies, field-tested achievements and application experience in China's intelligent transportation sector, the China Pavilion seeks to facilitate technical exchanges and practical cooperation with Thailand in the field.

Ma Minggeng, counsellor for science and technology at the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, visited the China Pavilion on Monday afternoon and said: "Last year marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. I really hope through this event, we can open a new field of cooperation between the two countries."

Tongkarn Kaewchalermtong, president of ITS Thailand, likened intelligent transportation systems (ITS) to "a universal language that knows no borders," noting that the Thai government would like to push more ITS solutions to improve people's lifestyles and help them connect with the digital world.

At the China Pavilion, three green-and-white shared e-bikes showcased by DiDi caught visitors' eyes as many hopped on for a firsthand experience. A quick scan of the QR code on the handlebar allows users to download the DiDi Bike app.

Klaus Gao, director of SEA Branch at DiDi Bike Overseas Division, explained that the e-bikes, with a safer and lighter design, generate neither fuel pollution nor noise pollution. He added that a total of 1,000 units have been shipped from China to Thailand, and the first batch of 200 already being deployed at a university in southern Thailand, with plans for gradual rollout across the country in the future.

The L4-level autonomous logistics delivery vehicle exhibited by RoboVan firm Zelostech also drew large crowds of visitors. Richard Zhang, Zelostech regional managing director (SEA), said the vehicle is mainly deployed in logistics, supermarket retail and delivery services. It has already achieved commercial operation in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and several countries across the Middle East, he noted.

Meanwhile, video footage displayed by Beijing Sinoits Tech showcased applications of AI in transportation scenarios, including monitoring traffic congestion, road debris and traffic accidents, as well as recognizing license plates, vehicle models and road violations. The company's Chairman Wu Kewei told Xinhua that one of its AI-powered products is already in operation on a highway in Bangkok.

Beyond the China Pavilion, imprints of Chinese scientific innovation can also be found throughout the exhibition hall.

At another booth, young student Habi and his friend were enthusiastically operating a snake robot at the experience zone of Mengshi Future Scientist club. "This exhibition offers us a good opportunity. We see something new and learn many things. I like the robot," Habi said cheerfully.

According to the staff, the club, which is committed to building China's top community for youth scientific research and innovation, seeks to advance the development of AI, drones and robotics in Thailand through the Bangkok fair.
