WELLINGTON, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Fire crews on Sunday were battling a large blaze at a cinema in Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, with flames reported shooting out of the Hoyts movie theater at Botany Town Center.
A worker at the shopping center described the scene as a shocking sight, saying that about 100 people were standing outside the mall as officials told them to move away from the area, Radio New Zealand reported.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand classified the incident as a third-alarm fire, meaning additional fire crews from across the Auckland region were being called in to help tackle the blaze, the report said. ■
