Top DPRK leader pays tribute to anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs: KCNA

PYONGYANG, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong on Friday on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of national liberation, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

A wreath in the name of Kim, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, was placed at the wreath-laying stand of the cemetery amid the wreath-laying music, KCNA said in its report.

The anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters' revolutionary faith and indomitable fighting spirit are injecting eternal viability into the DPRK people in their struggle to build a prosperous powerful country, the DPRK leader was quoted by KCNA as saying during the event.

The DPRK celebrates its Liberation Day on Aug. 15, in commemoration of the liberation of the Korean Peninsula from Japan's colonial rule on Aug. 15, 1945.
