TASHKENT, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- A total of 210,837 cars were sold in Uzbekistan in the first seven months of 2026, down 3.6 percent year on year, according to data released Wednesday by the Automobile Business Association of Uzbekistan.
Car sales decreased by 7,940 units during the January-July period. In July alone, sales reached 31,324 units, up 4.7 percent month on month, but down 30 percent compared with July 2025.
The auto market is witnessing a shift in demand structure. The combined market share of Chinese carmakers rose to 17.8 percent in the first seven months, up from 11.6 percent a year earlier, the association noted.
Experts say that Uzbekistan's auto market continues to undergo structural changes, with demand gradually shifting toward higher-priced models. ■
