JAKARTA, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Yang Wanming, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), led a delegation on a visit to Indonesia from Monday to Thursday.
During the visit, Yang attended and addressed the China-Indonesia local governments dialogue, a gathering of Chinese and Indonesian friends, and a China-Indonesia friendship evening event.
Yang met with Heru Hartanto Subolo, director general for information and public diplomacy at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as officials from more than 10 Indonesian local governments, including Yogyakarta, Jambi, Palu and Kendari.
He also held talks with representatives of the Indonesia-China Economic, Social and Cultural Cooperation Association, the Indonesia-China Friendship Association, and the secretariat of the United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific.
Yang engaged with Indonesian friends from various sectors and introduced China's four major global initiatives, its 15th Five-Year Plan, and its approach to poverty reduction.
The two sides expressed their readiness to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further strengthen civic friendship, practical cooperation, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and youth exchanges, and jointly advance the building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future. ■
