YANGON, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- More than 90 people have tested positive for Vibrio cholerae in Myanmar's Yangon region, the Ministry of Health said Thursday.
A total of 171 people are currently hospitalized for diarrhea symptoms in Yangon, including 54 with severe cases, and one death has been reported.
Most cases were recorded in the Lanmadaw, Latha, Pabedan and Kyauktada townships. Local authorities are testing water and food in high-risk areas and have temporarily closed roadside food stalls.
The ministry advised people to drink boiled water, wash hands thoroughly and avoid unclean food. ■
