YANGON, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 59.4 kg of heroin in central Myanmar's Mandalay region, the state-owned daily The Mirror reported on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in Chanmyathazi township in Mandalay region on Aug. 3 and confiscated the drugs, which were concealed in 6,600 plastic soap cups, the report said.
Two suspects were arrested along with their car and the drugs, while two other suspects linked to the case remained at large, it added.
The suspects have been charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the report said. ■
