HANOI, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam shipped 2.04 billion U.S. dollars worth of fruits and vegetables to China in the first six months of the year, a year on year increase of 25 percent, local media VnExpress reported Tuesday, citing the Department of Vietnam Customs.
Durian exports in the six months surged 43.4 percent from the same period last year to nearly 988 million dollars, while shipments of dragon fruit, banana and jackfruit were valued at 168.3 million dollars, 150.3 million dollars and 126.6 million dollars, respectively, said the report.
Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports are set to hit a milestone of around 10 billion U.S. dollars this year, driven by high-value products such as coconuts and bananas, according to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association. ■
