KABUL, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have seized several weapons and a quantity of ammunition during several operations in northern Samangan province, the provincial police office said Tuesday.
The confiscated weapons included a PK machine gun, a rocket launcher, a Kalashnikov rifle, eight pistols, hand grenades and a rifle, along with various rounds of ammunition, the office said.
The provincial police office urged residents to refrain from carrying unauthorized weapons and called on the public to cooperate with security forces in reporting illegal arms trading and other security-related activities. ■
