BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- The development of automation technology and artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the job landscape and the competencies required by industry, Brunei's education minister said Monday.
Speaking during a Legislative Council meeting, Hajah Romaizah Haji Mohd Salleh said the Ministry of Education is implementing five main strategies to ensure that the higher education system as well as technical and vocational education and training (TVET) remain responsive, and that graduates are ready to meet the needs of industry and the future economy.
She said one of the key strategies is to strengthen the curriculum through the introduction of core modules related to new and emerging technologies, as well as sustainability skills.
Another strategy is to transform learning methods by expanding project-based learning, real-world problem-solving and collaborative projects with industry.
The minister also highlighted the importance of strengthening data-based programs by using findings from the Graduate Employment Study and Employee Satisfaction Survey to assess the marketability of graduates and the level of employer satisfaction. ■
