KABUL, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- An oil refinery with an investment of 30 million U.S. dollars has been established in northern Afghanistan's Balkh province, according to local media TOLOnews on Monday.
The refinery has a daily processing capacity of 600 tons of petroleum products and was built according to standard specifications, TOLOnews reported.
The facility has created jobs for hundreds of local people. The refinery is expected to increase domestic petroleum processing capacity and support the development of Afghanistan's oil and gas industry, the report added. ■
