KABUL, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Two drinking water supply networks have been completed and put into operation in Adraskan district of western Afghanistan's Herat province, providing access to clean and safe drinking water for nearly 400 households, the official Bakhtar News Agency reported Saturday.
The projects were implemented at a total cost of about 9.72 million afghanis (about 152,000 U.S. dollars), according to the report. The newly completed networks are expected to help improve access to safe drinking water for local residents and reduce their reliance on unsafe water sources.
The projects were part of efforts to expand basic water infrastructure and improve living conditions for residents in rural areas of the province. ■
