TASHKENT, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan aims to join the top 50 countries in the global artificial intelligence (AI) Readiness Index by 2030 and expand the value of its AI-based software products and services to 1.5 billion U.S. dollars, the presidential press service said Friday.
According to the report, Uzbekistan currently ranks 62nd in the international AI readiness ranking. To achieve the target indicators, Uzbekistan plans to expand its computing infrastructure. In addition to the existing cluster worth 24 million dollars, a proposal has been made to allocate an additional 70 million dollars.
It was also emphasized that Uzbekistan's participation in the World AI Cooperation Organization should be used to promote initiatives for adopting advanced technologies, large language models and digital transformation solutions. The country's authorities expect to leverage this platform to launch joint projects with foreign technology companies and train highly qualified specialists. ■
