BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Brunei recorded a significant increase in applications to establish companies, with 354 companies registered in 2025 compared to 157 in 2024, representing a 125 percent increase, a government minister has said.
Speaking during the second session of the Legislative Council meeting for 2026 on Thursday, Haji Abdul Manaf Metussin, Brunei's coordinating minister of economic policies and minister of economy, trade and industry, said the positive momentum has continued into this year.
Based on official figures, he noted that 200 companies were registered in the first half of 2026.
Haji Abdul Manaf said the Brunei Economic Development Board plays a key role in facilitating investments, conducting project assessments, managing industrial sites and engaging with local communities. ■
