ISLAMABAD, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's headline inflation eased to 9.2 percent year-on-year in July 2026, down from 11.1 percent in June, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Monday.
The consumer price index (CPI)-based inflation stood at 4.1 percent in July 2025, PBS data showed.
On a month-on-month basis, inflation increased by 1.2 percent in July, compared with a decrease of 0.3 percent in June and an increase of 2.9 percent in July 2025.
Urban inflation rose 8.7 percent year-on-year in July, easing from 11.2 percent in June, while it stood at 4.4 percent in July 2025.
On a month-on-month basis, urban CPI inflation increased by 1.2 percent in July, compared with a decline of 0.5 percent in June and an increase of 3.4 percent in July 2025.
Rural inflation increased 9.9 percent year-on-year in July, compared with 10.9 percent in June and 3.5 percent in July 2025.
On a month-on-month basis, rural CPI inflation rose 1.2 percent in July, compared with no change in June and an increase of 2.2 percent in July 2025. ■
