DHAKA, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Millions of Bangladeshis remitted home nearly 3 billion U.S. dollars in July, the first month of the current fiscal year from July 2026 to June 2027, a central bank official said on Monday.
The Bangladesh Bank (BB) official told Xinhua, "The flow of inward remittances rose 15.4 percent year-on-year to 2,859 million dollars last month."
In the 2025-2026 fiscal year, remittances from some 10 million Bangladeshis living and working in over 100 countries and regions amounted to 35.56 billion dollars.
Remittances mainly came from Middle Eastern countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. ■
