KABUL, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Construction of a power transmission project has begun in Nader Shah Kot district of eastern Afghanistan's Khost province at a cost of more than 81.7 million afghanis (about 1.17 million U.S. dollars), the official media Bakhtar News Agency reported Monday.
The project is expected to provide power to 2,024 households upon completion, the report said.
The project is aimed at expanding access to electricity and improving living conditions for residents in the area. ■
