COLOMBO, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka recorded an 18 percent decline in dengue cases compared with the previous week, the National Dengue Control Unit said on Sunday.
The country has reported 85,364 dengue cases and 62 deaths so far this year, the unit said.
The highest numbers of cases continue to be reported from the Gampaha, Colombo and Kandy districts.
The unit instructed authorities to conduct mosquito-control programs at schools serving as examination centers before the Grade Five Scholarship Examination and the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level Examination. ■
