KABUL, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have seized a consignment of illicit drugs during an intelligence-based operation in eastern Khost province on Saturday, local police said Sunday.
The operation, conducted following a tip-off, resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the confiscation of the vehicle allegedly used to transport the narcotics, Khost police spokesman Tahir Ahrar told Xinhua.
An investigation is underway to identify any other individuals involved in the case, the spokesman said. ■
