KABUL, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces have dismantled a clandestine drug processing laboratory and seized more than 2,000 kg of illicit drugs in western Farah province, the office of the Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs for Counter-Narcotics announced in a statement on Saturday.
Counter-narcotics police units conducted a series of operations on the outskirts of Obe district, destroying the lab and recovering 2,205 kg of illicit substances used in heroin production, according to the statement.
Police have taken into custody four suspects in connection with the case and referred their dossiers to the judiciary for further investigation, it added. ■
