Pakistan conducts over 40,000 intelligence operations in 2026: military

ISLAMABAD, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's military said on Friday that security forces have carried out 40,348 intelligence-based operations across the country so far in 2026.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said at a press conference that the operations involved the armed forces, police, civil armed forces and intelligence agencies.

He said more than 31,000 of the total operations were conducted in the country's southwestern province of Balochistan.

The military spokesperson said 3,145 terrorism-related incidents were recorded in the country. According to the military, security forces killed 2,084 terrorists during the period.

Chaudhry said that 819 Pakistanis were killed in terrorism-related incidents this year, including 303 military personnel, 194 members of the police and civil armed forces, and 322 civilians.
