Cambodia values constructive, equitable partnerships: PM

PHNOM PENH, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said here on Thursday that his government valued partners who engage in constructive and equitable cooperation.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Thomas Andrews, UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Cambodia, said a press release from the prime minister's spokesperson unit.

Hun Manet highlighted the government's steadfast commitment to promoting and protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms in accordance with national laws and relevant international instruments, particularly through expanding access to healthcare and education.

The prime minister encouraged Andrews to continue working closely with relevant ministries.

He also briefed him on the development of the border situation with Thailand, reaffirming Cambodia's commitment to resolving the issue peacefully in accordance with international law and the existing conventions, treaties, and agreements between Cambodia and Thailand.
