ISLAMABAD, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday praised the Pakistan Navy for rescuing 19 fishermen stranded in the northern Arabian Sea, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.
According to a statement from the PMO, Pakistan Navy ship PNS Taimur successfully rescued all 19 crew members aboard a stranded fishing boat during a rescue operation.
The rescued fishermen included 11 Pakistani and eight Iranian nationals. The navy also provided them with food, drinking water and medical assistance.
Sharif commended the navy officers and personnel for the successful operation, saying it reflected the Pakistan Navy's professionalism, humanitarian spirit and unwavering commitment to protecting lives at sea. ■
