NEW DELHI, July 24 (Xinhua) -- At least 13 people died and two were injured when a heavy boulder rolled down a hill and hit a moving vehicle in India's northern hilly state of Himachal Pradesh on Friday, confirmed a local official.
The mishap was reported from near the Kadhunala-Rahauli area in the state's Chamba district.
As a result of the crash, the rear portion of the vehicle caught fire. There were 15 people inside the ill-fated vehicle. The two injured persons were admitted to a local hospital. Preliminary reports suggested that the victims were local residents.
Following the incident, local disaster management teams blocked the road for some time to carry out repair works. ■
