YANGON, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar police seized over 1.5 million stimulant tablets in Sagaing and Mandalay regions, the state-owned daily The Mirror reported on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police intercepted a vehicle in Kalay township, Sagaing region, on July 13 and seized 600,000 stimulant tablets, the report said.
Based on the investigation, police searched a suspect's house in Pyigyitagon township, Mandalay region, on July 17 and seized another 960,000 stimulant tablets, it said.
Seven suspects were arrested for trafficking the drugs from Mandalay region to Kalay township. Two other suspects remain at large, it added.
The suspects have been charged under Myanmar's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the report said. ■
