JAKARTA, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has said the government is accelerating the construction of 5,000 village bridges, aiming for completion by the end of 2026 to improve connectivity.
"By July 2026, of the 5,000 village bridges that the villagers have been desperately requesting, we have completed 1,000," Prabowo said during a press conference on Monday.
In a statement on June 25, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the interim target for completing 2,500 bridges has been set for August. ■
