NEW DELHI, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in the rain-related incidents in Indian-controlled Kashmir has risen to 23, the state-run broadcaster All India Radio (AIR) said Tuesday.

"Eleven people, including a woman and her two children, were killed in fresh rain-related incidents across the Jammu region yesterday, raising the death toll to 23 over the past three days," the broadcaster said.

According to authorities, seven people went missing as persistent heavy rain hampered rescue and relief operations in the flood-hit districts of Rajouri and Poonch.

The rains started on Sunday and triggered landslides and flash floods in the frontier twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri, southwest of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
