SYDNEY, July 17 (Xinhua) -- A man has died in a fiery collision between two freight trucks in the east Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) in the early hours of Friday morning.
A police statement said that emergency services were called to reports of a heavy vehicle crash and fire near the town of Goulburn, 170 km southwest of Sydney, around 4:10 a.m. on Friday.
Officers arrived and were told that a truck towing two semi-trailers carrying aerosol cans had collided with the rear of another truck that had broken down on a major highway.
Fire and rescue crews extinguished the fire, but both vehicles were destroyed.
The driver of the semi-trailer was initially unaccounted for and was later found dead, police said.
A 31-year-old man who was driving the other truck was treated for minor injuries before being taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police commenced an investigation into the incident and have asked for anyone with dashcam footage or information to come forward. ■
