TOKYO, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Four people were injured in a stabbing incident in Saiki City of southwestern Japan's Oita Prefecture on Monday morning, local media reported.
According to public broadcaster NHK, local police notified emergency responders shortly after 9:30 a.m. local time that someone had been stabbed with a kitchen knife at the parking lot of a store in Saiki City.
Police said four people were injured, all of whom are conscious and have been taken to the hospital.
Police arrested a 44-year-old male suspect at a nearby medical facility on suspicion of violating the firearms and swords control law. Authorities are investigating the details of the incident. ■
