KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's state-owned oil and gas company Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) has signed a seven-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with Japan's Shizuoka Gas Co., Ltd., strengthening their partnership on long-term energy security.

Petronas said in a statement on Monday that its subsidiary, Petronas LNG Ltd (PLL), will supply about 0.84 million metric tonnes of LNG to Shizuoka Gas under the agreement, starting in 2032.

The deal builds on Petronas' diversified global LNG portfolio and aims to provide greater supply flexibility and reliability to support Shizuoka Gas' energy needs amid evolving market conditions.

The arrangement also reflects the growing demand for flexible LNG supply solutions, as customers seek greater resilience and energy security in a dynamic global energy landscape.
