SYDNEY, July 12 (Xinhua) -- One man has died and two others have been hospitalized in separate stabbing incidents in the eastern Australian state of New South Wales (NSW).

Police in NSW said in a statement that emergency services were called to reports of the first stabbing in the suburb of Hamilton South, 115 km north of Sydney, around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a man believed to be in his 40s suffering from a stab wound. He was treated by ambulance paramedics and taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Hours later, police said emergency services were deployed to an assault at a western Sydney home shortly after midnight.

The NSW Police Force said that officers confronted a large number of people gathering at the house, but could not find anyone with injuries.

Two men believed to be aged in their 20s, one with stab wounds to his torso and the other with stab wounds to his thigh, were found in separate vehicles nearby a short time later.

They were both taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police established crime scenes at the locations of both stabbings and commenced investigations into the incidents.
