KABUL, July 12 (Xinhua) -- A dermatology and aesthetic hospital in Kabul is expanding access to modern skin treatment services for Afghan patients, with Chinese-made medical equipment and skincare products helping doctors provide high-quality and affordable care for a wide range of skin conditions.

From treating pigmentation, allergic skin diseases and premature wrinkles to offering preventive skincare, the hospital receives a growing number of patients, most of them women, seeking professional treatment that improves both their skin health and self-confidence.

For Tamana Mohammadi, a 35-year-old dermatologist, caring for the skin is about much more than appearance.

"Especially for women, healthy skin is one of the most important aspects of their appearance," Mohammadi said. "When their skin becomes clearer and healthier, they feel more confident, refreshed and positive."

The hospital combines experienced Afghan doctors with modern diagnostic facilities and internationally recognized treatment methods. Every patient first undergoes a comprehensive skin assessment, allowing specialists to accurately evaluate skin conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.

To keep pace with developments in dermatology, the hospital maintains professional links with international medical institutions. Doctors regularly participate in specialized training programs and continue updating their knowledge to introduce the latest treatment methods into their daily practice.

Chinese-made medical equipment and skincare products have become an important part of those efforts.

"We import both skincare products and the medical equipment we need from China," Mohammadi said. "We are very satisfied with both the machines and the products because they are highly effective, of excellent quality and available at affordable prices."

She said the combination of quality and affordability is particularly valuable in Afghanistan, where many families have limited financial resources. Therefore, "we are able to provide advanced dermatological services at costs that many more patients can afford."

Mohammadi also expressed hope for stronger professional exchanges between Afghanistan and China.

Among those benefiting from the hospital's services is Hadiya, a 23-year-old patient whose skin condition had affected both her appearance and confidence for years.

"I received treatment at this clinic, and my skin has improved significantly," Hadiya said.

She said the improvement has given her greater confidence in her daily life and encouraged her to pay closer attention to long-term skincare.

For skincare specialist Asiya Waqar, prevention remains one of the most effective ways to maintain healthy skin.

"Environmental conditions, climate and neglecting proper skincare are among the main causes of skin damage," Waqar said. "Unfortunately, many people seek treatment only after their skin has already deteriorated significantly. Delaying care often makes skin problems much worse."

As Afghanistan's healthcare sector continues to develop, cooperation that brings quality medical products, modern equipment and professional exchanges is helping hospitals improve specialized medical services while making advanced treatment more accessible and affordable.
