VIENTIANE, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The first extraordinary session of the Lao National Assembly's 10th legislature concluded on Friday after approving key economic, legal and development measures.
In his closing remarks, Lao National Assembly President Saysomphone Phomvihane said lawmakers reviewed and adopted government reports on the implementation of the 2026 socio-economic development plan, state budget, and monetary plan for the first half of the year, along with priorities for the remaining six months, according to Lao News Agency.
A key outcome of the session was the approval of the National Agenda on Rural Development and Poverty Eradication (2027-2030). The agenda focuses on sustainable livelihoods, rural infrastructure development, agricultural growth, and improved access to finance, education, healthcare, electricity, clean water, and telecommunications. ■
