NEW DELHI, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in a massive landslide in India's southern state of Keral rose to seven on Friday after rescuers recovered a body from the site, officials said.
With the latest recovery, officials said only one person remains missing.
Friday marks the fourth straight day of the search operation since the landslide struck.
The landslide occurred amid heavy rains on Tuesday near Meenakshi Bridge at Kalladi in Wayanad district, about 488 km north of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala.
According to the officials, the landslide hit close to the site of the ongoing Anakkompoyil-Meppadi tunnel road project connecting Malappuram and Wayanad districts. ■
