JAKARTA, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday jointly launched a cultural heritage conservation project for the Prambanan Temple Complex in Yogyakarta, one of Indonesia's most prominent cultural heritage sites.
"I welcome the agreement on the conservation and restoration of the Prambanan Temple Complex between the governments of Indonesia and India," Prabowo said.
Built in the 10th century, the temple complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia.
The Indonesian president also expressed hope that Modi's visit would further strengthen the friendship between the two peoples and expand mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors. ■
