HANOI, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's index of industrial production in the first half of 2026 expanded 10.8 percent year on year, the highest growth rate for the period since 2019, local media VnEconomy reported Friday, citing the National Statistics Office.
The manufacturing and processing sector, the main driver of industrial growth, rose 11.4 percent and contributed 8.9 percentage points to the overall increase, the report said.
Stronger electricity production and distribution, as well as water supply and waste management, also supported the upbeat performance, it added.
Industrial production increased in all 34 localities across the country, according to the report. ■
