BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan at 1757 GMT on Wednesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 174.8 km, was initially determined to be at 36.45 degrees north latitude and 70.5 degrees east longitude. ■
